We have our usual firewood bundles to help keep you warm and also to maximise your budget, ensuring maximum Kw heat per £ spent.

This is also a gentle reminder to order well in advance as we anticipate a crazy year this year as many challenges outside of our control continue on the supply chain. Stock is good at present so no need for panic buying but if you have the space and rely on wood fuel as your main source of heating please consider getting your orders in now. We can offer flexible drop offs at monthly or regular intervals to suit. Allow at least a week for your delivery date when you order and longer if possible. We shall do the rest.
For customers collecting: please do order in advance and pay by card where possible it saves queueing and waiting for your order.

Researching alternative wood fuels to heat our homes is a constant task for our team here at Cornish Firewood. Mindful that woodlands are depleting and not replanted or growing as fast as our demand we appreciate the balance of needing to heat our homes in a rural area; where often the wood burner is the only source of heat and mains gas is either not available or now not financially viable; with the need to ensure our wood fuel is renewable and sustainable.
For generations heat and cooking has been provided by biomass products and that needs to continue. By ensuring all biomass by-products of manufacturing and waste products can be reused and manufactured into an efficient wood fuel we are able to offer alternatives to solid wood logs, such as our Hardwood Heat Logs and RUF briquettes to mini briquettes made from kiln dried sawdust to coffee logs coming soon made from the waste created by the coffee industry.

Update on crates
We have taken the decision not to stock any wooden crate products this year.
Our price for the volume in nets is the same so no benefits on cost but these are tricky to deliver to many areas and often to store. We continue to have all hardwoods in stock in nets in equivalent volumes and same prices. We can also collect and reuse the nets if top tape only is cut.

Cornish Firewood Wooden Headgear Moves Home!
In an effort to safeguard Cornwall's mining history, we have been working with King Edward Mine Museum to relocate the last working wooden headframe in the region to ensure its preservation and ongoing care.
The headgear has been carefully dismantled and taken to King Edward Mine Museum at Troon, where it will be assessed for repairs and restoration. The plan is for the headgear to be re-erected in a prominent position.
Progress will be dependent on raising the necessary funding (estimated at £25,000 - £30,000), the intention is to raise as much of this as possible through fundraising, grants and sponsorship.

An update about the Cornwall Wood Bank
Cornish Firewood launched the Cornwall Wood Bank Scheme some years ago to help those most in need. The Cornwall Wood Bank aims to support those in financial hardship and fuel poverty in particular. Keeping families warm all year round.
The scheme is currently over-subscribed so unfortunately it is not able to process applications for the rest of this year until further funding updates, however donations are still very much urgently needed to open the scheme as soon as possible. You can donate via the links below.
If you have concerns for someone over fuel poverty, please refer them to Age UK, Cornwall Council and Community Energy Plus for help with heating support and woodfuel.

Don’t forget all wood burned in domestic homes must now be certified Ready to Burn and we are happy to advise all of our wood fuel products are Ready to Burn accredited.
Our customers can be confident that our wood fuel is ready for immediate use by looking for the Ready to Burn logo along with our company name and unique Ready to Burn certification number, which must be present to prove wood fuel meets the expected standards of the scheme.
